The feast and the procession

In the courtyard of the monastery of Isola del Gran Sasso, now completely restored, a crowd of people is busy with the preparations for celebrating the first anniversary of the exhumation of the saint’s body. Among them are Maria and the “old women”, now young and happy. There is a small orchestra and a lot of happiness while the people wait to carry the remains of St Gabriel in procession together with a banner bearing his portrait.
